ABOUT Kathy A. Schermerhorn, L.Ac.
As a child growing up in New Jersey, I was a naturalist, a chemist and an alchemist, with a great deal of freedom to wander in the woods and wetlands near my home. This became the foundation of my deep connection to the Natural world.
In College, I studied Oriental Religion and Philosophy, and majored in English Literature, graduating from Columbia University in New York.
In 1978 I began to practice T’ai Chi. I carry the Form deep within.
In the 1980’s I studied Energy Healing with Reverend Rosalyn Bruyere and began to understand the mysteries of Health and Healing. And I began to attend Lectures on Classical Chinese Medicine in New York’s Chinatown with Jeffrey Yuen, a Taoist Priest in the Jade Purity and De Ying Huang Traditions.
In 1997 I graduated from The Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York, and began a transition from a 20 year career as an Editor in Film and Television, to a Practitioner of Oriental Medicine.
I am an NCCAOM certified Acupuncturist and Herbalist, and am licensed to practice in Massachusetts and New York.
In the 1990’s I also began my study of Homeopathy with Alize Timmerman of the Hahnemann Institute in The Netherlands. She has been a cherished mentor in my life. My other teachers over the years have included Louis Klein, Massimo Mangialavori, Jan Scholten and Divya Chhabra.
In 2015 I completed 4 years of training in Classical Homeopathy with Nancy Frederick at the Baylight School in Portland, Maine.
I’ve had a Practice in Montague, Massachusetts, one of the 5 villages of Great Falls, since 1996, helping others find their true source of Healing.
